Get him to the greek!

In "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," Infant Sorrow frontman Aldous Snow had it all figured out: hit singles in the form of "Inside of You" and "We've Got to Do Something," fans from all across the globe and several years of sobriety. But to quote another great musician, the times are a-changing when an off-the-wagon Snow returns in "Get Him to the Greek," the "Sarah Marshall" spin-off arriving in theaters Friday (June 4).

Russell Brand and Jonah Hill take center stage in the comedy about a disgraced rock singer and a budding talent agent looking to stage a glorious comeback. While that's the film's basic premise, the story behind the story has several layers. As the comedy arrives in theaters, MTV News is bringing you a cheat sheet to catch you up on everything you need to go "Greek."

One of the reasons moviegoers latched onto "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" was the onscreen chemistry of Brand as rock god Aldous Snow and Hill as an aspiring musician and Snow-obsessed fan. Apparently, the chemistry didn't go unnoticed by director Nicholas Stoller and producer Judd Apatow, as they announced a new comedy project re-teaming Brand and Hill just one week following the release of "Sarah Marshall."

That project would eventually become "Get Him to the Greek," and while Brand was set to reprise his role as Aldous Snow, Hill took on an entirely new character: Aaron Green, a record-company intern who volunteers to escort the down-and-out Snow from his London home to the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles for a comeback concert. Madness, debauchery and hilarity inevitably ensue.

Stephen Clancy Hill

stephen clancy hill, aka Steve Driver

Porn actor Steve Driver, the suspect in the Ultima DVD slaying earlier this week, leapt to his death following a day-long standoff on a steep Chatsworth hillside.

Driver, during the standoff, held a two-foot-long sword and was carefully being watched by a semi-circle of SWAT members. Later, SWAT decided to move in and lasso him, while using a stun gun.

Instead of being captured, police say, he leapt to his death. He leapt off a boulder, sword in hand, falling about 45 feet to the ground below.

Driver yelled throughout the day atop the hill, "I want to die" and "It wasn't supposed to happen this way."

The cliff is near a home at about the 8000 block of Azul Drive, near the Chatsworth Nature Preserve. Police may have been tipped on Driver's whereabouts because the home was used frequently for porn shoots.

Driver has been at large since Wednesday night when he allegedly used a samurai sword to stab and slash employees at Ultima DVD's production facility in Van Nuys.

Police are investigating whether Driver became enraged with his colleagues after learning that he was being fired and evicted from the offices at Ultima DVD, where he lived.

Without provocation, police say Driver armed himself with a sword, typically used as a prop, to attack three co-workers. They were then rushed to the hospital where actor Tommy Dong died as a result of his injuries.

One victim has been released, the other remains hospitalized.

Driver, whose real name is Stephen Hill, can be seen handling a sword in many of the scenes he performed in and many reports suggest he had an obsession with weapons.

Burn Notice

Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) starts Season 4 in deep trouble—again.

The superspy has been kidnapped by Management, the mysterious group that had him framed and banished from the CIA. Now, impressed by his recapture of the psycho ex-operative Simon, they want Michael's considerable talents on their side. He ends up partnering with his captor, the dapper Vaughn (The Wire's Robert Wisdom). "Vaughn is a more friendly collaborator than the other coercive faces of Management, but he's no less dangerous," warns exec producer Matt Nix.

On the home front, Jesse Garcia (Coby Bell), another falsely accused ex-federal agent, will join Michael's evil-fighting team. "He's a cool guy who has an interesting relationship with both Mike's mom, Madeline [Sharon Gless], and his sometime lover Fiona [Gabrielle Anwar]," Nix reveals.

In a later episode, Burt Reynolds guests as a formerly hotshot operative-turned-bartender. "There's still fun to be had," Nix promises, "but we're exploring Michael's inner life—where he's got some very dark stuff."

Rue McClanahan

Emmy-winning actress Rue McClanahan, best known for portraying Blanche on the long-running TV series The Golden Girls, died today in New York. She was 76.

McClanahan’s portrayal of Blance Devereaux, an at times over-the-top, sexual Southern spinster, was both inspirational and entertaining throughout the Golden Girls run. Due to the character’s embrace of the single life and pride in her womanhood, Blanche seems a forerunner to Sex and the City’s Samantha Jones, portrayed by Kim Cattrall.

McClanahan originally made a name for herself in the 1960s, as she appeared in numerous Broadway productions. She effortlessly transitioned to television in the next decade, as she was Beatrice Arthur’s best friend on Maude, until that series ended in 1978.

Former UCLA basketball coach and Hall of Famer John Wooden is reportedly hospitalized in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles television station KCAL and the Los Angeles Times are reporting Thursday night that the 99-year-old Wooden is in "grave" condition at UCLA Medical Center.

The Times cites an anonymous school source who says Wooden's health has been an issue in recent weeks and that he was briefly hospitalized about a month ago.

UCLA spokesman Marc Dellins tells The Associated Press that he spoke to a Wooden family member Thursday evening and that the family asked that no other information about Wooden be released.

Family members couldn't be reached for comment Thursday by the AP.

Wooden led the Bruins to 10 NCAA championships — at one time winning seven in a row — during a 27-year run that ended with his team cutting down the nets one last time in 1975.

Uh-oh...

Whirlpool Corp., the world’s largest appliance maker, issued the biggest U.S. dishwasher recall in three years to fix 1.7 million of its Maytag models with a fire hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The dishwashers have a faulty heating element that can short-circuit and ignite, the agency said today in a statement. Consumers should stop using the dishwashers immediately and disconnect the power source by pulling the fuse or flipping a circuit-breaker, the agency said..

The manufacturer, based in Benton Harbor, Michigan, received 12 reports of fires with the plastic-tub models, including a blaze that caused extensive kitchen damage, the agency said. No injuries have been reported.
